Last weeks were really hard for me: I was working at my 'product name is censored' automation project. I had only two weeks to prepare a presentation of chosen tools abilities and demonstration of some test plan automation. And all I new back there, was that I want to use Sikuli (as the 'product name is censored' is a web panel), and... and that's all.
It's ended up as a Robot Framework + Sikuli tricky integration, and writing my own lib on python. Here I should add, that I've started studying python at that very moment I've started writing code with it :)
I hope I'll find a time to create a big post about the most tricky places in integration of this tools, and a tips on using Sikuli itself.
But now I'm here just to share the celebration: today my project was agreed with all interested persons, and I have a green light to proceed with! Of course, that wasn't easy: me, the manual tester, needed to ensure the person, who is auto tester (and responsible for auto testing in our team) that we should forget about our old framework (written on selenium), and create new one, and I would create it, and with the help of tools chosen by only me. Who would agreed with that??? But, whatever, at the end we came into agreement :)
So this is story of how I have proclaimed myself an auto tester.
By the way, I'm studing python with this course on courcera.com . If you never tried online courses before - u should do it now =)
